Kids Ministry Associate Director

Grace Fellowship Church is prayerfully searching for our next Kids Ministry Associate Director to assist the Directors in Kids Ministry to ensure that ministry for kids ages 0 year to 5th grade and their families is done with excellence helping them know God, know the Bible and be able to share their faith. The ideal candidate will be a Jesus follower with a passion for supporting the church’s mission of sharing the gospel, as well as a proven track record of success in Kids Ministry. We integrate Christ’s commission into every aspect of our work life. The Role The Kids Ministry Associate Director is to build relationships with staff, leaders, kids, and families. This role is to assist with the planning, development, and implementation of all things Kids Ministry, with the specific mantle of partnership with directors for the coordination, leadership, and execution of large group programs which includes but is not limited to weekly Sunday large groups, mid‑week group, Special Needs events, Christmas Eve Family Service, and VBS. The Kids Ministry Associate Director is under the leadership of the Lead Kids Director working on site at our office in Katy, Texas. Responsibilities Ministry Involvement: Take leadership of large group Sunday morning; lead, recruit, communicate, coordinate, train, and equip leaders for large group Sunday morning which includes large group teachersandworship leadersin Early Childhood and Elementary Coordinate large group technology needs with the Tech Coordinator and volunteers Take leadership of special events; lead, recruit, communicate, coordinate, train, and equip leaders for large group big events such as Christmas Eve, Easter, and VBS which include large group teachers, worship leaders, skit/play participants Assist with Special Needs events including but not limited to Special Needs camps, VBS, respite, and family events Support mid‑week kids’ program, including but not limited to Foundations Help ensure resources are ready and available for weekly kids’ ministry programming Relational Leadership: Encourage and support kids, leaders, and families through ongoing connection with cards, calls and emails (Be relational) Staff Accountability Participate and engage in weekly staff meetings and monthly all staff meetings. Contribute as a team player with the Kids staff and entire Grace Fellowship staff. Adaptability and Growth: Embrace other job‑related duties as needed to support the overall mission and needs of the church. Preferred Qualifications/ Skills College degree in early childhood development or 2‑3 years experience in Kids M inistry at a church . A strong desire to help children develop a passion for God, with a call to Kids Ministry Strong leadership skills that are relational, leader of leaders as well as kids Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Flexibility / adaptability / teachability Some knowledge of technical aspects contributing to large group including sound, lighting, video and ProPresenter Detail‑oriented, with strong organizational, planning, and time management skills Able to prioritize and multi‑task; must be self‑starter and have a strong work ethic Able to work with diverse personalities/interests in a professional and Christian manner Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff Additional Information Compensation & Benefits: The pay rate will commensurate with experience. This position is a non‑exempt, hourly position. Grace Fellowship’s benefits are outlined in the Employee Handbook, but currently include paid vacation, holidays and a 403(b) plan. Working Hours: The Kids Ministry Associate Director is to develop a working schedule that maximizes both time with family and productive time accomplishing the job. The position is an average of 25 hours per week. The work week is from Sunday through Thursday, with some special events on the weekend and potential coordinating on Saturday.
