Fleet MechanicSTATUS: Full-Time PAY TYPE: Hourly/Non-Exempt — $23.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience LOCATION: Richland Hills, TX REPORTS TO: DFW Operations Manager or Vice PresidentMore Clean of Texas is a commercial exterior maintenance company serving property managers, municipalities, and contractors across the Fort Worth area and beyond. Our fleet of sweepers, truck-mounted attenuators (TMAs), and support vehicles is the backbone of our operation, and we take pride in keeping every piece of equipment safe, reliable, and road-ready.This position requires daytime hours five days a week, with occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call availability as operational needs arise.Position SummaryThe Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of all company vehicles and equipment, including street sweepers, TMAs, and support vehicles. This role works directly with the DFW Operations Manager or Vice President to keep the fleet running at full capacity and to minimize equipment-related downtime.Essential Job FunctionsPerform routine preventive maintenance on all fleet vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, belt and hose inspections, and tire serviceDiagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on sweepers, TMAs, and other vehicles; complete repairs in a timely mannerInspect all vehicles and equipment for safety defects, cleanliness, and compliance with company standards; document findings and corrective actionsOperate company vehicles as needed for testing, delivery, or repositioning (requires approved MVR)Maintain the shop and storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition; report hazards or safety concerns to the DFW Operations Manager or Vice PresidentCoordinate with outside vendors, parts suppliers, and service providers when repairs require specialized equipment or expertiseMaintain accurate records of all maintenance performed, parts used, and equipment status using company systems such as Fleetio and SamsaraOrder parts and shop supplies following company approval procedures; monitor parts inventory and flag restocking needsAssist in developing and maintaining a preventive maintenance schedule for the full fleetSupport the onboarding of new equipment by completing pre-service inspections and setupWear all required PPE and follow all safety protocols at all timesMaintain regular and punctual attendanceWork cooperatively with drivers, supervisors, and other staff to minimize operational disruptionWork outdoors and in varied weather conditions as required by the roleComply with all company policies and proceduresPerform other duties as directedJob QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment, or a related field preferredMinimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic working on commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, or fleet operations; experience with sweepers or specialty vehicles a plusMust be at least 21 years of ageValid Texas Driver's License and a clean driving recordAbility to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug testProficiency with standard hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipmentWorking knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systemsAbility to read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentationStrong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to follow both written and oral instructions and to communicate clearly with supervisors and team membersReliable transportation to and from the work locationBasic computer or tablet proficiency for accessing work orders, parts systems, and company communicationPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, reach overhead, and use hands and fingers for fine and gross motor tasks. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs and push or pull up to 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Extended periods of work in a shop environment, outdoors, and under or around vehicles are to be expected.
