Mechanical Modeling Engineer

Job Summary The Mechanical Modeling Engineer will support the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH. The role involves constructing highly detailed 3‑D geometric CAD models of foreign spacecraft, including static and dynamic characteristics, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑confidence solutions. Draft notional capabilities of satellite components. Model components or entire vehicles. Produce high confidence answers to space system problems. Perform all-source intelligence research, analysis, and assessments with Intelligence Community tradecraft standards. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) with 4+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s with 2+ years of relevant experience – additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Active TS/SCI clearance. 2+ years experience with SolidWorks, NX, Catia, or similar 3‑D CAD modeling software. Industry or government experience in 3‑D CAD/CAE. Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work individually and with teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with satellite system design, layout, or systems engineering. Experience with aerospace industry standards and best practices. Experience with U.S. Intelligence Community standards and procedures. Experience at NASIC or NSIC with 3‑D CAD Intelligence Community models.
