DCAMM is a central agency in implementing several key policy priorities of the Healey-Driscoll Administration, including promoting decarbonization and climate resilience in all state facilities, identifying and facilitating opportunities to repurpose underutilized state property for housing production, and increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in public construction contracting and in the public construction workforce. Position Summary The Construction Coordinator II (CC II), within DCAMM’s Office of Design and Construction, monitors all phases of construction projects from start to final acceptance for compliance. The incumbent maintains project schedules and budgets and provides guidance and information pertaining to technical aspects of assigned projects. This position involves assignment to projects primarily at the State House, but other assignments may be required depending on the needs of the Office of Design and Construction. Duties and Responsibilities * Review schematic design, design development, and construction documents for compliance with sound engineering principles. Ensure designer adheres to the program and that facility needs are met. Review and approve plans and specifications to ensure timely completion of detailed, comprehensive construction documents. Establish project budget. * Meet with all project principles, including designers, general contractors, sub-contractors, resident engineers, vendors, and interdepartmental personnel to establish project milestones, scheduling, payment, and other related issues. * Attend weekly project meetings. Initiate and maintain daily rapport with Resident Engineers. Review daily reports and conduct site visits as required. * Recommend acceptance or determine refusal of financial obligation for itemized payment requisitions, change orders, and extra services, and contractual modifications. * Mediate disputes by ensuring compliance with contract documents. Defer unresolved issues to Project Manager. * Monitor project schedule and budget for compliance and make modifications as required. Prepare, compile and submit reports and documentation related to project progress. * Supervise various Resident Engineers per project and provide guidance to and advise project principles. * Coordinate use and occupancy and furnishings and equipment. Ensure completion of punchlist items. Participate in evaluations which determine final acceptance of projects. Work with the Office of Finance to coordinate the project closing. * Maintain accurate project records, including as builts, warranties, guarantees, list of suppliers, and all other project documentation. * Perform related duties as required. Preferred Qualifications * Demonstrated knowledge of the public construction process. * Experience in Planning and Design phases of capital projects. * Proficiency in current software technology, such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and AutoCAD. * MEP knowledge is a plus. * For more information about employment at DCAMM, please view our RECRUITMENT VIDEO . Applicants must have (A) at least five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in trades, construction, construction management, inspection and/or alteration of building construction projects; or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Incumbents are required to have a current and valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License at a Class level specific to assignment. Substitutions: 1. An Associate's degree or Technical degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
