The PA provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative healthcare service, as delegated by a physician. The PA will report to the Nurse Manager/Director of the department for all employee/employer issues regarding departmental and organizational operations. The PA consistently demonstrates the core values of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to other employees.EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:Minimum:* Graduate of a PA educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission (ARC) on Education for Physician Assistants (or its predecessor agencies) OR current certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.* New graduates will be considered.Desired:* Recent surgery experience* Recent oncology experience* Bilingual in SpanishLICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:* Current California Physician Assistant License* Current AHA-HCP CPR recognition* Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application* Credentialed through the Enloe Medical Staff Office and Finance OfficeSKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:Must have the confidence and experience to work independently with diverse patient populations and experience in accessing specialty referrals and community resources. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment, communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis. They will be clinically competent in physical diagnosis, psychosocial assessment and management of health-illness needs to provide direct patient care and education to patients, families, students, and nursing staff.
