Overview Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position will support the Infusion Department at our Garland location. It is a full‑time Monday‑Friday role (8:30 am‑5 pm) with no weekends, calls, or major holidays. They are reviewed and approved during the annual compensation review and are subject to continued employment through the award payment date. What does the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) do? Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients following national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental factors across age groups, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for assessment and therapeutic management of patient and family needs, and supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program. Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material. Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician. Administer all medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, time, and technique. Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration where applicable. Facilitate dose modifications by assessing patient labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting the physician regarding dosage adjustments, problem management, and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line and catheter devices. Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Qualifications Education/Training Level I Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred. Hold a RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Maintain continuing education requirements. 0–3 years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred. Level II Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred. Level Senior Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology. Oncology certification preferred. Working Conditions The work environment is representative of an oncology/hematology clinic environment, with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions. Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
