Target end-user platforms include Android and iOS.We're looking for someone who has a strong sense of ownership of product features and quality, is enthusiastic about trying new technologies, and does not hesitate to do whatever it takes to get things done, even if outside your usual responsibility area.ResponsibilitiesDevelop a multiplatform vehicle companion app for iOS and Android using Kotlin Multiplatform, Jetpack Compose, and SwiftUIPartner with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and peers across HondaEngage in discussions and contribute ideas to product definitions and designsLead technical discussions, feature development, and architecture reviewsPair with managers to define a technical vision and roadmap for the appDrive system design and architectureOwn the breakdown of complex problems into simple development tasksBuild prototypes to validate the feasibility of requirements and to test new ideasAdvocate for unit and integration testing best practicesDesign APIs and SDKs together with external teamsLead observability of non-functional requirements to ensure a delightful experience for Honda and Acura drivers around the worldSupport engineering development lifecycle processes in a highly regulated and safety-oriented industryQualifications7+ years of experience with the development of customer-facing apps at scale, involving prototyping, creating, and maintaining features from concept to productionTeam player with a positive attitude and who is committed to continuously improving the team, the product, and the companyExperience creating readable, thoughtful, and maintainable codeExperience utilizing asynchronous programming, multi-threading, dependency injection, and reflectionMentor other engineers through code reviews, as well as providing guidance and feedback$157,000 - $180,000 a year This reflects the base salary for the position. In addition, the role offers a comprehensive benefits package and a progressive bonus program. The actual compensation package is determined by a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including demonstrated skills, depth and relevance of experience, and role-specific considerations.
