Job Description
Exciting full-time Special Education teaching roles are available for the 2026–2027 school year in a welcoming district near Paterson, NJ. Multiple openings span across elementary, middle, and high school grades, supporting students in self-contained classrooms focused on Autism Level 1–3, Multiple-Complex Impairments (MCI), and Learning Disabilities (LD).
Start a rewarding school year from September 3, 2026, through June 23, 2027, working a consistent schedule of 32.5 hours per week in classrooms where your expertise and compassion truly matter. You'll benefit from a team-oriented environment: every classroom includes paraprofessional support, and case managers are available to assist with IEP management. An established curriculum, new leadership, and enhanced support structures—including seven recently hired Behavior Specialists—foster a positive work and learning experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Special Education certification (either Teacher of Students with Disabilities [TOSD] or Teacher of the Handicapped [TOH] plus primary certification)
- Certification aligned with the grade/subject of the assigned classroom
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals and related service staff
- Commitment to fostering growth for every learner
Daily Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction in a self-contained setting
- Support individualized academic and behavioral goals for each student
- Collaborate with team members to implement IEPs using the district’s Frontline system
- Foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom culture
- Communicate consistently with families, staff, and administrators
Educators here find small class sizes with excellent student-to-teacher ratios—especially in Autism support rooms at 2:1 or 3:1. The district’s significant structural improvements create a dynamic, supportive setting perfect for those who want to make a true impact.
Ready to play a vital role in students’ academic journeys? Connect with us today to discuss your fit and schedule an interview!
Compensation for this position ranges from $35.00 to $50.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
