• Call only -- few phone consults per 24-hour period
• PA takes primary call; surgeon assists when surgical need arises
• Hospital setting
• Fellowship required -- orthopedic surgery board certification required
• Arthroscopy, total joint replacement, and joint revision preferred
• Hand surgery, tendon release/repair, and peripheral nerve surgery preferred
• Spine surgery with instrumentation preferred -- cervical, thoracic, lumbar
