Senior Cost AnalystThe Senior Cost Analyst plays a critical role in supporting both Finance and Operations by delivering accurate inventory costing, labor efficiency analysis, insightful analysis, and continuous process improvements. This position partners closely with operational teams to ensure labor and inventory costs are timely, accurate, and well-understood, enabling informed business decisions across the organization.This is an opportunity for an experienced cost or operations finance professional who enjoys working cross-functionally, leveraging data, and improving processes through automation and modern analytical tools.This position will report directly to the VP of DC Operations and will be integrated into the on-site Operations team and analyze data from this project. This role will require the individual to be on-site with occasional travel to the HQ located in Plano, TX.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport maintenance and evaluation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and cost standards in alignment with corporate policies and production processesAnalyze purchase prices, cost variances, and trends to identify drivers and improvement opportunitiesAnalyze labor production, efficiencies, and unit rates to optimize opportunities for improvement.Assist with month-end close activities, including compilation of costs (labor, materials, equipment, etc.) for billing purposes, inventory reconciliation, ensuring and timely invoice submissionAnalyze inventory losses and partner with Operations to identify root causesMaintain inventory costing methodologies and conversion cost driversSupport data accuracy and enhancements within the ERP environment including expansion of reporting and system capabilitiesAssist with budgeting and forecasting of project related expensesPartner with Operations to support performance objectives and decision-making Inventory Processes and ProceduresProvide support in documenting internal controls, policies, and procedures for inventoryAssist in validating those policies and procedures are being followedAd-hoc AnalysisProvide reporting and analysis related to material and labor unit rates consistent with Bill of Quantity (BOQ) submissionAssist Operations as needed, providing analysis and insights to support improved business decisionsCross-train on financial analyst duties to serve as backup as neededOther duties as assigned.Qualifications and RequirementsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline from an accredited collegeMinimum of 5 years of work experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.Experience with Power BI and Power Automate is a plusExperience with Office Scripts, VBA, and/or macros is a plusSkills and CompetenciesIntermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, nested formulas, and advanced functionsInterest in applying automation, data, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and insightsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organizationStrong organizational and analytical skillsWork Location and Travel:At Site Location - Abilene, TexasAt Site location - Rayville, LASupervisory ResponsibilityNoneBlack Box is a leading technology solutions provider.
