Data Center Technician

Job Summary Enterprise Healthcare client has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Infrastructure Engineering Analyst to join their dynamic and growing team. Location: Windsor, Connecticut Job type: Contract Salary: $24.52 - 34.52 per hour Work hours: 3pm to 11 pm Education: Associates Responsibilities DATA CENTER TECHNICIAN Responsible for the basic racking and installation of physical IT infrastructure equipment in the data center including Network, Telecommunications, Servers and Storage. Participate in project implementation conference calls as needed. Obtain a basic understanding of the client’s network and SAN design for timely installation. Install rack hardware in data center cabinets. Participate in deployment/release activities for data center implementations and maintenance, ensuring all change policies are followed. Submit change control, manage problem tickets, schedule and coordinate repairs. Provide on-site support in the data center during incidents, RMA, project and maintenance activities. Provide tier II support for data and network, server and storage systems infrastructure. Assist in voice and data network problem determination efforts. Work off pre-prepared cabling request sheets and checklists for vendors. Install Ethernet and Fiber Gig-E cabling, routing, labeling, and adhere to cabling management standards. Coordinate and manage cabling contractors for larger cabling activities. Check connectivity of newly installed hardware for acceptance into production. Maintain and document appropriate levels of fiber optic and copper jumper cables for timely installations. Plan and oversee vendor activities for server, network and storage change activity. Operate in accordance with business needs, priorities and SLAs. Provide periodic performance reports for management review and improvement initiatives. Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation. Qualifications Associates degree or equivalent.
