Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program with an A.S. degree. Experience / Qualifications Licensed in the State of Florida to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant, American Heart Association BLS Certification for Health Care Providers. Position Summary The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of the Physical Therapist to carry out a Physical Therapy plan of care. Assists in the supervision of Rehab Aide personnel, communicates patient progress to the Physical Therapist regarding the plan of care, documents patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements, maintains equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition, and performs other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Perform prolonged standing/sitting for 2 hours or more per day. Grip a dynamometer with a force >10 lbs for 10 seconds. Pinch with a force >2 lbs for 10 seconds. Reach overhead and raise shoulders >45° while holding a 10‑lb weight for 10 seconds. Shug the shoulders for 10 seconds with a 10‑lb weight in both hands. Rotate the hand left-to-right and right-to-left while holding a 10‑lb weight. Fully flex and extend the elbow while holding a 10‑lb weight. Reach forward 16–17 inches from the body. Bend the torso forward more than 20° and twist sideways. Squat for 30 seconds. Lift 50 lbs (male) or 35 lbs (female) from knee height to waist level. Push/pull 40 lbs from a standstill. For in‑patient/sub‑acute rehab staff: stand and walk intermittently for 4 hours or more per day. Flex the back >20° and hold 10 seconds; extend the back and hold; laterally bend the back and hold; twist the trunk and hold 10 seconds. Kneel on either left or right knee. Carry a 20‑lb weight over a distance of 25 ft. OSHA Category II Tasks involve possible occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials. Must wear protective equipment, as appropriate. Threshold Requirements These threshold requirements are required and completed on a yearly basis. Annual Joint Commission mandatory. #J-18808-Ljbffr
