Location & Travel This role is onsite and the selected candidate will report to GM Fort Wayne Assembly (or possibly GMPT Bedford, GM Marion Stamping, or GMCH Kokomo) on a full‑time basis. Travel for this role will be less than 25%. The Role The GM environmental team develops creative solutions to complex environmental challenges. As an Environmental Engineer / Environmental Supervisor you will champion air, waste, and water compliance programs, support plant partnership initiatives, and lead a team of professionals across the region. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities) Develop, maintain, and support robust environmental stewardship program strategies that align with GM’s sustainability goals. Engage with local regulatory agencies and prepare required regulatory documentation and reports. Create innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges and utilize technology to maintain environmental management systems. Monitor environmental parameters and recommend continuous improvement actions. Support and improve system designs to preserve the environment, integrate latest technologies, and provide long‑term solutions. Understand the plant manufacturing systems, including production processes, wastewater discharges, storm water management, air emissions, sewer systems, chemical usage, and waste management/recycling programs. Interface with business partners and agencies to schedule and perform compliance testing. Establish trustful relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and industry partners to optimize Resource & Chemical Management programs. Coach and develop team members, provide performance feedback, and support other GM Indiana Manufacturing sites. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Environmental Engineering, or a related field science. 5+ years’ experience in Air Permitting, Storm Water Permitting, Hazardous Waste Generator Requirements, and related media. Experience in environmental engineering or related science, preferably at a manufacturing operation. Demonstrated ability to execute projects. Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills. Willingness to travel between facilities. Leadership ability to develop people, including at least one successor, through formal and on‑the‑job training, coaching, and mentoring. Preferred Qualifications Basic knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes. Additional Information This position may be eligible for relocation benefits. #J-18808-Ljbffr
