EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent Experience 1 year of patient care experience in a healthcare setting or Completion of Medical Assistant, EMT or Paramedic Training Program Licenses and Certifications (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by first day of employment Upon Hire

JOB DUTIES Prepares for clinic operations by ensuring exam and treatment rooms are clean, stocked, and equipped with necessary supplies and functioning equipment. Greets, escorts, and rooms patients, creating a welcoming and professional experience while supporting efficient patient flow. Obtains and documents vital signs, medical history updates, medication information, and other required patient information in the electronic health record. Prepares patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments by ensuring appropriate documentation, diagnostic results, and patient information are available for the care team. Assists medical practitioners, and nursing staff with examinations, procedures, treatments, and other patient care activities within scope of practice. Performs clinical procedures and screenings as directed and appropriate to departmental needs, including specimen collection and processing, according to established protocols. Provides patient written education and reinforces instructions as directed by the provider or nursing staff, documenting education provided in the electronic health record. Coordinates patient care activities, including referrals, diagnostic testing, follow-up appointments, and other clinical support functions as assigned. Completes accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record and verifies or witnesses required consent, authorization, and other patient forms. Maintains patient safety by identifying and reporting safety concerns, performing routine equipment checks, and following established infection prevention and safety protocols. Maintains adequate inventory of clinical supplies and communicates supply or equipment needs to appropriate personnel. Participates in departmental training, competency validation, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development activities. Assists with onboarding and training of new employees, serving as a preceptor and resource as assigned. Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: (a) Directly interacting with or caring for patients; (b) Directly interacting with or caring for human-subjects research participants; (c) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting patient records (including patient financial records); or (d) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting human-subjects research records. Performs other duties as assigned. Salary is commensurate with education, skills, and relevant experience.
