Medical Director, Select Health, Colorado

Position Overview Medical Director (part‑time – 0.2FTE, 8hrs per week) based in Colorado. Reports to the Select Health Chief Medical Officer and is accountable to the Select Health Market President. Key Responsibilities Review physician review operations and provide high‑level medical direction and consultation. Consult on the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures for the accurate administration of contracted benefits. Review and approve all medical changes and options across all products and health benefits. Coordinate the credentialing process, develop standards, evaluate provider credentials, advise staff, and resolve credentialing issues. Partner with teams across the organization on paneling and contracting to ensure appropriate outcomes. Participate in corporate strategic planning and facilitate integration through effective cross‑divisional decision making. Collaborate with other departments to optimize operational success. Coordinate with the Medical Technology review process. Perform physician reviews when necessary and oversee medical reviewers to ensure completeness, timeliness, and accuracy. Qualifications Minimum qualifications: MD or DO with board certification in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Practice, Psychiatry, or Emergency Medicine; current licensure in Utah, Idaho, Nevada or Colorado; at least five years of clinical practice. Preferred qualifications: prior management experience; experience with financial and medical expense management; knowledge of managed‑care products, processes, and their impact on market and cost; understanding of health‑care delivery systems related to government programs and agencies; excellent communication skills with a range of stakeholders. Physical Requirements Ability to see, read documents, identify equipment, assess member and provider needs, communicate verbally, use a computer for typing and information access. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $159.78–$181.48per hour, based on experience. Eligible for an annual leadership incentive and a sign‑on/relocation bonus when applicable.
