Position Title: Life Enrichment Specialist 

Position Type : Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Schedule:  Wednesday-Sunday 8:30am-5:00pm

Position Summary:

Performs duties involving the planning and implementation of an activity program which meet the needs and interests for the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of residents and their families.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• 1+ years social or recreational program experience in a health care setting.
• Current Driver’s License, Auto Insurance, and Safe Driving Record
• CPR Training
• Food Handler’s Card

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assesses, develops, and carries out a therapeutic activity program for an assigned case load including one-to-one interactions and group programs.
• Delivers a program of scheduled activities as assigned, to include reality orientation, sensory stimulation, exercise classes, adaptive crafts, and pet therapy.
• Plans, coordinates, and implements resident outings in eliseo  vehicles and assists with special programs and events.
• Assists with resident outings, special programs and events as assigned.
• Maintains documentation required by State and Federal regulations including initial activity assessments (MDS), daily resident participation records, monthly, quarterly, and annual progress notes, and reviews.
• Develops assessments and written care plans to promote non-pharmacological interventions and activity programs for assigned case load, including one-to-one interactions and group programs.
• Provides support for in-house pet care.
• Contributes to the maintenance and storage of Life Enrichment supplies used in programming.
• Attends daily report meeting with nursing staff, educational events as they occur and are pertinent to assigned area.
• Participates in Life Enrichment and eliseo internal committees as well as other committees of interest or designated by the Director of Resident Services.

Upon acceptance of an offer, candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, reference checks, background check and driver record check prior to starting work with  eliseo.

Upon first day of hire, all staff are required to provide documentation of influenza vaccination (Seasonally for Influenza). Additionally, all staff will undergo tuberculosis testing upon their first day and annually.
