Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will work in a 14-bed telemetry unit and a main unit with 44 beds, providing high-quality patient care during night shifts. This position offers opportunities to care for patients with a variety of clinical needs, ensuring optimal health outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Job Details

• Unit Type: Telemetry
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required: 2 years in a telemetry setting
• Shift Hours: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule)
• Holidays: Participates in holiday rotation with permanent staff
• Scrub Color: Navy

Patient Care Responsibilities

The Telemetry Registered Nurse is responsible for:

• Monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms and vital signs
• Administering medications and IV drips per protocols
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Providing education and support to patients and their families
• Floating between the telemetry unit and the main unit as needed

Qualifications

• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Surgical, orthopedic, medical, cardiac stepdown, including post-cardiac catheterization and other acute conditions
• EMR System: Cerner
• Support Staff: Nurse aides available for assistance during shifts

Additional Information

• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy services available 24/7, with after-hours support from an external provider
• Orientation includes 6 hours of floor-specific training
