Job Description & Requirements Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Kearney, Nebraska. Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/08/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Radius Rule: candidates must be within 50 miles of the location and cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity. Weekends are Saturday and Sunday. A driver’s license is required at submittal to determine distance. Fingernail policy: artificial nails are prohibited in all patient‑care departments. Refusal to remove nails will result in contract termination. Exam policy: RN’s must pass a pass/fail exam on Wednesdays during orientation. The open‑book exam covers skills learned and requires a 90% score to pass; failure will result in termination. Scheduling: Block scheduling is not approved unless it is on weekends only. No dual schedules are accepted, and drivers are not allowed to share vehicles. Call‑in periods require a 30‑minute arrival window. Department details: 33 beds, average daily census 16, nurse-to‑patient ratios 1:2–3 for adults. Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, adult sepsis, post‑stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. Responsibilities: RNs are required to titrate drips (cardiac drips, insulin, sedation). They troubleshoot ventilatory equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow). They read, interpret, and document monitor strips. They may assist with nurse aids and healthcare support tech work as needed. Orientation: one shift of unit/department‑specific orientation before the first day. No additional orientation beyond 7 days per 13‑week contract will be approved.
