Project Manager

JOB SUMMARY The Project Manager II is responsible for the end-to-end management of projects with a Total Contract Value (TCV) between $500K and $1Mn. This role involves managing projects on a deliverables-based or outcome-based model, ensuring the delivery of agreed scope within defined timelines and costs. The primary focus is on achieving project success, meeting acceptance criteria, and enhancing customer satisfaction. This includes identifying stakeholders, maintaining communication, defining project activities, optimizing resources, managing risks, implementing governance, and assessing project health through metrics. A significant part of the role involves building and mentoring high-performing teams, driving software engineering best practices, and ensuring effective implementation of software delivery methodologies. Key Responsibilities Perform end-to-end management of single or portfolio projects with TCV $500K - $1Mn. Deliver agreed scope within timelines and cost, ensuring success and acceptance criteria are met. Identify key stakeholders and maintain positive business relationships. Maintain regular communication with customers, partners, and suppliers. Define project activities, responsibilities, milestones, resources, skills, interfaces, and budget. Optimize costs and time utilization, minimize waste, and deliver projects on time and budget with high quality. Anticipate and manage risks with suitable strategies and contingency plans. Define and implement the governance model as per project needs. Plan and implement metrics-driven management to quantitatively assess project health. Orchestrate projects to develop or implement new processes to meet business needs. Effectively implement software delivery methodologies and instill customer confidence. Build, manage, and nurture high-performing teams through mentoring and development. Ensure high levels of team engagement, seamless communication, and conflict resolution. Adopt and build software engineering best practices. Conduct requirements analysis, elicitation, control, and prioritization. Drive the creation of common standards for design documents, traceability matrices, and other artifacts. Partner with customers for requirement definition and elicitation. Manage customer expectations through pre-planned deliverables. Conduct impact analysis for scope changes and negotiate prioritization. Consolidate, evaluate, and validate estimates at a solution level, considering risks, assumptions, and scope. Review, validate, and negotiate estimates across service lines. Conduct resource planning, including resource pyramid and people development at a project level. Analyze the impact of changes on estimates and resource loading. Identify roles and skills required for projects. Identify and plan end-to-end activities to meet project acceptance criteria. Manage multiple small/medium size projects/modules. Identify risks and mitigation strategies for projects. Anticipate schedule delays and dependencies and manage them per the risk management plan. Identify options to fast-track the schedule. Estimate work, plan, and track activities closely, reporting progress regularly. Proactively identify dependencies impacting project KPIs and facilitate agreement with dependency owners. Identify and track risks and issues, following escalation paths. Document, communicate, and track the impact of risks and issues. Identify internal and external stakeholders. Define RACIA charts and communicate roles/responsibilities. Define and implement the communication plan. Ensure stakeholder needs, concerns, or complaints are understood and addressed. Ensure the test approach is defined and agreed upon. Support system integration testing. Review and mentor the team during test execution. Support defining the test strategy and scenarios. Understand the business impact of defects and prioritize them. Participate in defect triage meetings, identify root causes, and interpret results. Ensure and drive configuration management processes. Provide information and demonstrate work during configuration audits. Define/adopt the right tooling strategy for the project. Guide the team to develop efficient and high-quality work products. Meet project goals, ensure process compliance, and mentor the team. Create continuous quality improvement plans. Define QA processes and plans. Tailor quality guidelines to meet project-specific requirements. Implement preventive/corrective actions for challenges impacting KPIs. Guide team members to research business environments and competitive landscapes. Understand how proposed solutions meet client requirements. Identify key industry parameters for market sensing. Understand customer technology landscapes and map business requirements to technology requirements. Set expectations with customers regarding technology. Leverage technology knowledge and upgrade team skills. Provide inputs on potential areas of opportunity. Analyze project profitability and create profitability sheets. Modify profitability parameters and identify margin impacts. Carry out basic deal pricing and apply project principles for profitability improvement. Define pricing models for medium complex projects. Conduct estimations for complex projects (e.g., FP, value-based pricing). Understand pricing strategies and business models. Review simple proposals. Establish a knowledge management plan and platform for new joiners and team members. Ensure project learnings are contributed to the KM repository. Comply with account management activities and drive relevant KPIs. Write contracts to mitigate potential risks. Collaborate with other projects and enabling functions to deliver value.
