Registered Nurse Emergency Department

Job Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process with technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence‑based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members. Position: Night shift, full time (36 hours/week) in the Emergency Department at St. Vincent Regional Hospital, Billings, MT. Key Responsibilities Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans. Documents care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines. Uses resources as needed. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other duties as assigned and may float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications. May be required to be on-call during a scheduled shift. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Licensed RN in the state of practice. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS‑HCP) certification upon hire or within 60 days of hire with prior approval (ACL/SNR/PALS as appropriate). One year of licensed RN experience in an Emergency Department and/or high acuity setting preferred. Registered Nurse with an ASN/ADN must complete a BSN within four (4) years from date of hire unless having a minimum of fifteen (15) years of continuous RN experience in an acute care setting. Ability to work nights and/or weekends; regular attendance required. Physical & Functional Requirements Regularly assess patient care needs, operate monitors, and handle equipment. Frequent verbal communication with patients, providers, and visitors in an emergency setting. Manual dexterity and precision for complex equipment, computer use, and documentation. Capacity to lift, transfer, and move patients and equipment up to heavy weights. Ability to walk, assist with ambulating patients, and navigate crowded rooms. Compensation Hourly range: $38.37 – $52.25, dependent upon experience. 36 hours per week.
