About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shifts Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required. License: Current RN License issued by the state board of nursing or a multistate compact RN License. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association, PALS certification. Must-Have: Level 1 Trauma experience, ability to float in all pediatric care areas. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with families and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Must have experience with tracheostomy care, high flow nasal cannula, and be familiar with infusion therapies. Can be floated to NICU but only to care for low acuity patients, such as feeder growers.
