Fixed Asset Accountant

Fixed Asset Accountant

An established healthcare organization is seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to manage property, plant, and equipment, including medical equipment, facilities, and construction projects. This role supports month-end close, audit readiness, and regulatory reporting in a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger
  • Record capital additions, disposals, transfers, and impairments, including high-value medical equipment
  • Calculate and post monthly depreciation and amortization
  • Manage construction-in-progress accounts for facility expansions and renovations
  • Track leased assets in compliance with ASC 842
  • Support cost report preparation with depreciation schedules and asset data
  • Perform periodic physical inventories and asset tagging
  • Prepare audit-ready fixed asset roll-forward schedules
  • Collaborate with Facilities, Clinical Engineering, and IT on asset tracking
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or a regulated industry
  • 5+ years and CPA preferred, along with experience in construction accounting and healthcare ERP systems (Workday, Infor/Lawson, Oracle, or SAP)
