Certified Surgical Technician

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions. Ensures appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies are available. Hands required instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients. Maintains instruments in an organized manner. Monitors and tracks instrument counts throughout procedures. Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. No experience required, but one year of cardiac or vascular experience is preferred. Population served includes individuals from infant to older adult. Physical requirements include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and standing. Job exposure includes various clinical and surgical environments. Desire to work in a multi-specialty surgical setting is encouraged.
