The right busser is committed to ensuring high-quality customer service and the capacity to handle the pressure of restaurant work. Some examples of responsibilities include:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares dining room for guests by cleaning and clothing tables, and setting decorations, service plates, and utensils.
• Protects the establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
• Maintains menu presentation by keeping menus clean, replacing damaged or soiled pages, and cleaning chalkboards.
• Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, refilling water glasses, and being attentive to additional needs.
• Supports waitstaff by setting up and replenishing condiment stands and busser stations.
• Closes dining facility by cleaning chairs and tables, sweeping and vacuuming floors, and removing trash from the facility.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.
• Enhances the organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Able to effectively read tickets in English
• Preferred - high school diploma or GED

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Passion for the service industry
• Working knowledge of food
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude
• Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback
• Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to lift large-format serving trays
• Able to meet physical demands such as lifting at least 50 lbs. as well as standing on your feet for up to 8 hours

• Fast-paced high volume restaurant
• Indoor/Outdoor environment
• Exposure to a possibly noisy environment
• Exposure to extreme heat or cold depending on season and location
