Senior Systems EngineerLocation: Carmel, IN Industry: UtilitiesTheoris Services is assisting our client in their search for a Senior Systems Engineer to add to their growing team. This role will focus on reverse engineering legacy systems for an internal project. The engineer will extract and document system requirements from existing artifacts and source code, build end-to-end test plans, and ensure all requirements are properly captured and maintained in DOORS as the single source of truth.Responsibilities:Reverse engineer legacy source code and artifacts to extract and formalize missing system requirementsDevelop and maintain comprehensive requirements documentation in IBM DOORS / DOORS NextGenCreate end-to-end test plans and support verification & validation activitiesPerform data validation and ensure requirements traceabilityOrganize and improve requirements practices, applying systems thinking to help the team adopt better processesSupport the project with potential assignments to other related or adjacent projects as neededRequirements:10+ years of Systems Engineering experienceStrong background in requirements engineering and reverse engineering from legacy code/artifactsHands-on experience with IBM DOORS or DOORS NextGenDemonstrated ability to create structured requirement sets from informal or incomplete inputsExperience with Verification & Validation and test planningExcellent systems thinking and ability to drive clarity in ambiguous environmentsDesired:CSEP certificationExperience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and tools such as ArchiMate, Cameo, or RhapsodyAI experience for reverse engineering or requirements extractionPrior energy/utilities or mission-critical systems experienceBest-In-Class-Benefits: We are in the people business; treating people right is our ONLY priority.
