Delivery Driver

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $18.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Start Time: 7:30 AM
• Hours: 8-hour workday

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable Delivery Driver to pick up donations and deliver orders according to the daily schedule. The driver will operate a 20–24 ft. refrigerated box truck with a liftgate or one of three cargo vans . All vehicles are automatic.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick up donations and deliver orders according to the daily pickup and delivery schedule.
• Communicate with the Donor Relations Specialist regarding issues or concerns with incoming or outgoing products.
• Complete driver audit sheets as required.
• Perform general maintenance and routine inspections of assigned vehicles.
• Keep the inside and outside of the vehicle clean and free of debris.
• Ensure lights, windshield wipers, seatbelts, and other safety equipment are functioning properly.
• Report vehicle problems promptly to the Lead Driver.
• Complete weekly vehicle inspections.
• Report concerns regarding donors and agencies to the appropriate specialist.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Follow all state and federal vehicle safety and operating regulations.
• Follow proper procedures for safe product handling.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Must be insurable as a driver.
• Valid DOT medical certificate.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening.
• Ability to safely operate medium- to full-size vehicles.
• Ability to read and follow maps and delivery directions.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to operate manual and electric pallet jacks.
• Ability to lift 40+ pounds continuously .
• Typical lifting is approximately 26–27 pounds; lifting 50 pounds is rare.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a variety of conditions typical of an urban food distribution environment.
• Position requires frequent driving, loading/unloading, lifting, and use of pallet jacks.
