Fire Service Technician

$21 - $26 per hour

What you will do Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions. Responsible for contacting customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems. Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products at customer sites. Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. to repair equipment. How you will do it Ensure troubleshooting and repair of installed systems, including panel repair/reprogram, device replacement/repair, resolving low voltage circuit troubles and system testing. Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to assure efficient execution of all assigned tasks. Possess excellent written/verbal communication and outstanding customer service skills. Program fire alarm, security, and access control system panels. Experience with CCTV, IT and IP networks is a plus. Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner. Work on call and after hours on occasion at customer needs. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions. What we look for Required 1 plus years’ experience with fire alarm systems with exposure to access control. Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications. Good working knowledge of computers. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Capable of performing physical labor, carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 70 lbs, climbing ladders or scaffolding up to 40 ft, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends. High level of customer service. Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response. Adherence to safety guidelines and procedures. Strong organizational skills and positive attitude, quick learning. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Retain any required national, state, local licenses. Preferred Technical training preferred. NICET I preferred. Salary and Benefits HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $21-$26 (Hourly rate to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.)
