As an Equipment Operator, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and sustainable waste management. If you're ready to bring your skills and drive to a position that truly impacts the community, Operational Duties Drive sanitation vehicle, collecting waste and recyclables. Efficiently pick up solid waste along assigned routes. Transport refuse to the landfill, following designated routes. Solid Waste Management Operate trucks for the collection and transportation of debris to the city landfill. Perform tasks related to trash collection, ensuring the proper disposal of waste. Assist in recycling and disposal-related tasks. Vehicle Maintenance Perform daily inspections and safety checks on assigned vehicles. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including vehicle checklists, trip logs, and repair reports. Compliance and Policies Follow City and departmental rules, regulations, and procedures. Report to work free from the influence of drugs, controlled substances, or alcohol. Emergency Response Essential personnel may be on 24-hour call-out for emergencies. Work overtime, including during emergencies, to provide essential services. Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: 1 year of previous relevant work experience is required. Supervisory: No previous supervisory experience is required.
