Practice Setting and Clinical Scope This role is situated in a bustling Level 1 Trauma Center, providing comprehensive inpatient care. As a Gastroenterologist, you will conduct procedures such as endoscopy, ERCP, EUS, and manage GI Bleeds. The position involves consultation services without admitting responsibilities, focusing on adult and geriatric populations. Daily tasks include managing 8-10 admissions and follow-ups, as well as performing 5-8 scopes per day. Schedule and Assignment Details The assignment offers a 24-hour call schedule, running from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m., requiring weekend availability. Coverage is needed 365 days a year, with a preference for physicians available for 7 consecutive day stints. Start and end dates remain flexible, accommodating urgent needs with the potential for ongoing coverage. Support and Work Environment Physicians will work within a well-supported framework, with access to a 24/7 trauma team and intensivist and hospitalist backup. The facility uses the EPIC EMR system, ensuring efficient documentation and patient management. While no direct support staff is assigned, the collaborative team environment and technological support facilitate a seamless workflow. Qualifications Board Certification in Gastroenterology is required. Active DEA license required; Colorado licensure highly preferred. Proficiency in performing ERCP and EUS procedures is mandatory. Gastroenterology Fellowship completion is essential. Clean malpractice record is highly preferred.
