This includes understanding of wafer fabrication processes which build next-generation infrared detectors (microbolometers). Candidate will design and model new bolometer structures and methods of bolometer construction. Design and modeling will include analytical modeling and finite-element modeling for mechanical, structural, electrical, and electro-optical aspects of the microbolometer. Implantation of models and matching experimental results to models is a critical part of the job. This is the right place for a self-directed, goal-oriented, collaborative scientist or engineer. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Build microbolometer models for analytical solving or for finite-element tools.Design and execute experiments, analyze data, draw conclusions, document, and communicate resultsEvaluate new microbolometer designs for performance and potential yieldEvaluate production yield challenges and recommend improvements Collaborate with process engineers, research technicians, and test engineers to participate in overall product R&D cycle Job Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related technical discipline required2+ years of related experience desiredProficient computer skills – Word, Excel & OutlookAbility to communicate clearly in written and spoken EnglishStrong data analysis skills (fluency in Excel, MatLAB JMP, Python, SQL, or equivalent a plus)Experience with a finite-element modeling tools is desired: COMSOL or otherExperience with SEMulator3d is a plusAbility to use test and inspection equipment (microscopes, FIB/SEM, interferometers) is a plusFamiliarity and/or strong desire to learn microelectronic/semiconductor and MEMS fabrication techniquesApplicants must be a U.S Citizen Desired Background • Finite element modeling• Infrared detector technology• Statistical Process Control and Design of Experiments familiarity desiredSalary Range: $141,900.00-$189,200.000The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
