Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week travel assignment at Alaska Regional Hospital. The role involves preparing surgical instruments and maintaining sterile processing equipment to support various surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Clean, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments and trays for upcoming procedures.
• Operate sterilization equipment such as Steris washers, autoclaves, and related devices.
• Inspect, assemble, and maintain surgical instrument sets to ensure functionality and safety.
• Follow infection control protocols and adhere to unit policies to maintain a sterile environment.
• Assist with tracking and documentation using the CensiTrac EMR system.
• Support surgical teams by ensuring timely availability of sterile supplies during procedures.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrate at least 1 year of sterile processing experience in a healthcare setting.
• Hold a sterile processing certification or equivalent credential.
• Possess knowledge of surgical procedures such as THA, TKA, spine surgeries, and other orthopedic, general, or cardio procedures.
• Be able to work day shifts, with flexibility for weekends and on-call as required.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail and adherence to infection control standards.
