APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in  Taylor, MI looking to add a  Bindery  Folder Operator to their already amazing team.  Their primary responsibility will be to operate, set up, and maintain bindery folding equipment to produce high-quality printed materials that meet job specifications, quality standards, and production deadlines.  Keep reading for more details!

• Competitive hourly rate between $20-$25/hr. depending on experience

  What  your day will look like:

• Review job tickets to confirm folding specifications, production quantities, paper stock, and delivery deadlines.
• Set up and operate bindery folding machinery to meet production requirements.
• Perform machine make-readies and adjustments to accommodate various fold styles, paper types, and job specifications.
• Monitor production runs to ensure consistent quality and adherence to job requirements.
• Inspect finished products for fold accuracy, registration, trimming, pagination, ink defects, and overall quality.
• Identify and troubleshoot folding and production issues, including paper feeding problems, jams, skewing, cracking, marking, and other defects.
• Perform routine cleaning and operator-level preventive maintenance on folding equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions, quality issues, and production delays to supervisors promptly.
• Collaborate with pressroom, bindery, mailing, shipping, and production teams to maintain workflow efficiency and meet production schedules.
• Complete production reports, job records, and required documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Support other bindery operations and assist team members as needed to meet departmental production goals.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience operating bindery folding equipment.
• Experience in commercial printing, bindery, mailing, packaging, or manufacturing environments is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret job tickets and follow detailed production specifications.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle printed materials as required.
