Vermont Home Center is looking for a reliable and energetic Delivery Assistant to join our team in Waterbury, VT! This is a great opportunity to work hands-on, stay active, and be a key part of delivering quality products directly to our customers' homes. If you're a team player who takes pride in great service, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities:
- Assist with loading and unloading merchandise from delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
- Deliver home improvement products and materials to residential and commercial customers
- Ensure accurate order fulfillment by verifying items before and during delivery
- Provide friendly, professional customer service during each delivery interaction
- Assist in maintaining an organized warehouse and staging area
- Follow safe handling procedures for large, heavy, or fragile items
- Support the delivery driver with navigation, scheduling, and on-site coordination
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs regularly throughout the workday
- Strong work ethic with a dependable, punctual attitude
- Valid driver's license preferred but not required
- Prior experience in delivery, warehousing, or logistics is a plus
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and outdoor environments
- Team-oriented with the ability to follow directions and work efficiently
