Certified Medical Assistant Pediatrics

Job Overview Pediatrics On Demand is an urgent care and primary care located in Oak Lawn, IL. We also have a sister company Minis Walk In Clinic. We serve patients from birth to 21 years of age. The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting doctors and nurses in providing care to their patients, including recording medical histories, updating patient files, scheduling appointments, and performing standard care procedures such as drawing blood, checking vitals, and collecting lab samples. Job Type: Full Time, 3–12 hour shifts. Responsibilities Answer patient phone calls. Measure patient height, weight, and vital signs. Patient scheduling, charting, and medical data entry using AdvancedMD EMR. Knowledge in the fields of medicine, anatomy, and physiology. Ability to maintain records. Training and knowledge in OSHA and HIPAA regulations. Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Room patients in exam rooms and obtain chief complaint information. Knowledgeable of first aid procedures. Chart findings in a timely manner. Obtain in‑house lab tests (lead, hemoglobin, rapid strep, flu) as ordered by provider. Notify provider when vaccine/supply stock is running low to allow timely re‑ordering. Complete follow‑up patient calls when not providing patient care. Stock exam rooms with needed supplies. Keep office and work space neat and tidy. Give injections. Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations. Clean treatment rooms following patient examinations. Interview patients to obtain their medical history. Record patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results in patient medical files. Perform routine screening tests, such as height and weight measurements and blood pressure checks. Draw blood, remove sutures, and change dressings. Purchase and maintain supplies and equipment. Clean and sterilize medical equipment and instruments. Properly dispose of contaminated supplies. Assist physicians during examination by handing over instruments and materials. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Requirements Healthcare experience required. High school diploma or higher. AdvancedMD experience is a plus. Experience in pediatrics. Certification as a medical assistant (CMA) is preferred. Ability to work nights and weekends. Skills Communication.
