Join our Food Bank Warehouse team as an Associate Warehouse Operator. This role supports the warehouse operations primarily by pulling orders for pickup and delivery, loading, and unloading cargo, placing products in proper storage locations, and any other duties as assigned by the Outbound Supervisor, while working safely following all warehouse policies and procedures. These orders will be going out to our partner food shelves to help neighbors in 59 counties in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Starting Pay Rate: $22.25 USD per hour Benefits: Full benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement Savings Match, 20 Days PTO annually Work Schedule: 4-day work week! Monday through Thursday only! No evenings or weekends!40 hours per weekShift starts at 7:30am POSITION SUMMARY Supports the warehouse operations primarily by pulling orders for pickup and delivery, loading and unloading cargo, placing product in proper storage locations and any other duties as assigned by the Distribution Center Manager. Work safely following all DC policies and procedures . DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform all duties in a safe manner, follow all safety rules as listed within the safety manual and comply with any additional supervisory communication relating to safety practices and procedures.Ability to help meet yearly Pounds per Hour goalsPerform warehouse duties to include: pull, fill, and load orders as needed to accomplish daily warehouse goals.Audit orders filled from pick lists for accuracy and safe practices. Report discrepancies to Distribution Center Manager.Load and unload cargo in accordance with safe load practices.Maintain 100% safe floor conditions in all areas of the distribution center at all times. Restock products as needed, if directed to do so by the Material Handling Specialist.Report any inventory discrepancies discovered during picking to an Inventory Specialist.Provide outstanding customer service to any guests in the distribution center.Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the food bank warehouse.Follow safety regulations relating to OSHA or other company-related regulations.Handle food safely and complete food safety training within the first 6 months of employment. Maintain Food Safety Certification.Record all product moves with handheld or lift-mounted barcode reading terminals.Process accurate and appropriate paperwork.Assist with the resolution of inventory discrepancies.Employee’s behavior is to be in accordance with Second Harvest Heartland’s Visions and Values. QUALIFICATIONSA combination of education and experience generally attained through a High School diploma or equivalent experience and previous warehouse experienceElectric forklift and pallet jack experienceUnderstanding of inventory principlesLeadership abilitiesAbility to work effectively with designated Computer software (Windows and Navision)Ability to perform basic mathematics with strong spatial relations and conceptual capabilitiesAbility to adapt to varied work requirements and be flexibleAbility to work cooperatively with other staff and volunteersBe able to effectively cross train and perform effectively on any other Level 2 positionsAbility to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone is welcomed and valued.Ability to both speak and write EnglishAbility to follow both written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.Customer service experience preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
