Our core values include quality, timeliness, integrity, trusted relationships, and corporate citizenship.Opportunity OverviewSD Solutions seeks a Major Construction Project Manager to join our team in support of our federal client.  The Project Manager position is located out of their Aliso Viejo, CA Regional Office and is 95% (or more) telework.NOTE: Relocation assistance and sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates who receive their clearance and subsequently become employed with SD Solutions for this position.  We will also provide you with a referral bonus if you are able to successfully refer a candidate who is employed with us in this position for 90 consecutive days or more.Responsibilities IncludeManages the budget, schedule, and requirements of multiple concurrent major construction, renovation, and other large repair projectsLiaises between project managers, other governmental entities, upper management, and international border partners.Supports project planning, production, quality, project financial, and staff direction and oversight, and providing deliverables under the task orderReports on project progress and respond to inquiries about projects from client management and Congress. Interface regularly with stakeholders to Project Managers, and other U.S. Government agencies and componentsManages the budget, schedule, and requirements of multiple concurrent projects. Liaise between other government agency project managers and representatives, upper management and international partners to ensure that projects align with the goals of each stakeholderDevelops scopes of work and project requirement packages for new projects in the portfolio; this involves working with stakeholders to determine the requirements of the project and liaise with the technical experts who can develop project strategy/solutions (engineering, environmental, real estate, and cost estimates) for these requirementsAssists government stakeholders to create and manage the budgets and schedules and prioritizing of current and future year construction project plans for the programResolves urgent, time sensitive or unforeseen issues that arise in construction projects related to funding, project coordination and construction issuesProvides risk management baseline and manage contingency executionMonitors program funds and executes financial transactions in the government financial systemReports on program progress, issues, and resolutionsCoordinates with government stakeholders to ensure seamless transition from new project completion/capital asset formation to maintenance and repair coverageChairs meetings and other working groups as requiredWorks with stakeholders to develop requirements packages for new construction projectsProduces risk management quantitative assessments and status reportsDevelops and delivers weekly status reports and other ad hoc reportsWrites detailed Project Requirements Documents (PRDs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Statements of Objectives (SOOs), Performance Work Statements (PWSs), and Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)Requirements OverviewBachelor's degree is required with a minimum of 5 years of experience in performing large commercial or government construction related project management activitiesExperience in the field may substitute for a degreePossess a proven experience developing and maintaining working relationships with high level officials and technical expertsExperience with writing and developing projectsExperience writing and developing PRDs, SOWs, SOOs, PWSs, and IGCEs (experience drafting the commercial equivalents of these documents may be acceptable) Proficiency and experience with RSMeans or similar construction cost estimating softwareAbility to conduct analytic assessments of work plans and progress reports and identify strengths and weaknessesAbility to work collaboratively with all team membersExcellent written and oral communication skillsFamiliar with Microsoft office suite of programs, especially MS PowerPoint, Excel, and WordFamiliar with website design and construction software programs like SharePoint or AdobeExperience working in a fast-based, analytical environmentTravel is required for the role (up to 25%)Superstar QualificationsFederal experienceFederal Project Manager Level I & II Certification/other project management certificationMinimum OSHA 10-Hour trainingFamiliarity with project management, scheduling, and risk management/mitigationExperienced in solving difficult issues related to project funding and schedulingMicrosoft Office including MS Project and SAP trainingHold a current, active U.S. federal government Public Trust suitability background investigationEmployment TypeFull-time, W2 employmentExempt, salariedEligible for paid benefitsClearance, Citizenship, and Work LocationClearance requirement: Must be able to pass a minimum background investigation for U.S. Government Public Trust clearanceMust be U.S. citizen Location: Aliso Viejo, CA (95% telework)Some travel will be requiredSD Solutions CultureWe are a fast-growing company who puts people first.
