Licensed Mental Health Counselor

The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations is a 45-bed adolescent residential chemical dependency treatment center located in Spokane Valley, Washington. It serves adolescents ages 13–17 through 90- to 120-day intensive inpatient treatment programs tailored to individual needs, with a primary focus on Native American youth while remaining open to all. The Healing Lodge operates three residential treatment programs that meet ASAM Level 3.5 criteria, funded by Indian Health Services and the State of Washington and supported by multiple tribal, local, state, and national partners. Founded through a consortium of seven tribes, the organization works to strengthen families, empower communities, and save lives. Its mission and treatment philosophy integrate traditional, spiritual, and cultural values with chemical dependency counseling, emphasizing holistic healing and long-term wellness. Role Description The Licensed Mental Health Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Spokane, WA. This role provides individual, group, and family counseling to adolescents in residential treatment, integrating mental health and chemical dependency care within a culturally responsive framework. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and providing crisis intervention and support. The counselor will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members on case management and care coordination, maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, and participate in treatment reviews and discharge planning. The role also includes contributing to wellness programming that incorporates traditional, cultural, and spiritual practices, and engaging families and communities to support sustained recovery and positive life changes. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Mental Health and Psychology to assess, diagnose, and treat adolescent clients. Experience in Treatment Planning and Case Management to develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care. Proficiency in Relationship Counseling to support youth and family systems and improve interpersonal functioning. Current state licensure (or license-eligible status) as a Mental Health Counselor or equivalent credential. Experience working with adolescents in residential or intensive treatment settings, preferably with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Ability to provide culturally responsive care, with knowledge of or willingness to learn about Native American traditions and community contexts. Strong communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a closely related behavioral health field. #J-18808-Ljbffr
