Maintenance Supervisor

The location in Plymouth, North Carolina, United States, is seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Supervisor. This job is full-time permanent. Responsibilities Ensure all safety preventive activities and SOP’s are consistently followed, including Show Me audits and HPI. Take responsibility for the safety of individuals on the team and those impacted by any maintenance activity. Ensure and actively engage in daily safety requirements and team meetings. Appropriately plan and ensure that all assigned employees know and understand the areas of daily manufacturing and maintenance strategies. Facilitate and/or schedule training to ensure that employees are knowledgeable of the required tasks and all appropriate standard operating procedures. Ensure that all maintenance work (planned and unplanned) is performed on schedule and within budgetary limits. Perform effective diagnosis of breakdowns and timely repair to maximize availability of equipment and processes. Manage maintenance overtime to meet or beat approved budget guidelines. Understand and maintain high standards of tidiness and organization (5S – Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain). Learn and utilize Domtar’s Front-Line Problem-Solving process. Coach, counsel, and manage performance of direct reports consistent with the appropriate Labor Agreement, Rules & Regulations, Domtar policies & procedures and government regulations. Manage maintenance projects as assigned to support the needs of the business. Develop maintenance team members by providing challenging assignments, training, coaching, and mentoring opportunities. Recognize and reward team members for working cohesively to meet and exceed the business goals and targets. Key Skills Good verbal and written communications Demonstrated leadership and self-supervising within the guidance and expectations of direct management Ability to coach, counsel and lead a team of people Organizational skills Problem solving / analysis Technical capability Initiative Decision making Results driven Required Professional Experience / Qualifications A minimum of two (2) years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting or environment A minimum of two (2) years of maintenance supervisory experience in a large heavy manufacturing environment is required Ability to work with all levels of the organization, including the management committee and senior leaders Preferred Professional Experience / Qualifications A four (4) year undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in a technical or engineering major preferred You will be required to successfully complete a selection process that could include interviews, an employment background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness-for-duty test (for some positions).
