Patient Transporter - Transporters

Summary: To provide basic patient care to specified patients under the direction of a licensed nurse and in conformance with hospital policy and procedure. Responsibilities: * Organize, prioritize, and utilize time to maximize productivity. * Demonstrates knowledge and provides care for the orthopedic patient. * Observe and report unusual changes in patient conditions. * Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance. * Assumes responsibility for maintaining own educational requirements and professional development. * Practices safety measures and communicates risk management issues to the appropriate individual. * Utilizes effective communication skills. * Practices effective cost containment measures. * Responsible and accountable for professional conduct. Requirements: * High School Graduate (or equivalent). * A minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience preferred. * BLS required. * CPR. * Computer literacy is desired. * Ability to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of self or others. * Ability to comply with all GSMC policies and procedures that are job-related and consistent with business necessity. * Ability to effectively communicate with patients and provide competent care as appropriate to the ages of the patients served by this position.
