Locum Tenens ASAP Start

WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a BC/BE General Cardiologist for an ASAP locum tenens assignment supporting an established outpatient cardiology practice. This is an urgent coverage need due to an unexpected provider absence, with an initial 60-day assignment and the potential for ongoing coverage. Providers available for one to two weeks per month will be considered, with up to three physicians needed.

• Start: ASAP (Ideal start no later than August 3, 2026)
• Coverage Type: Locum Tenens
• Commitment: Initial 60-day assignment with potential for extension
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Setting: Outpatient Cardiology
• Patient Volume: Approximately 10-12 patients per day
• Onsite Requirement: Yes
• Credentialing Timeframe: Emergency privileges available for qualified candidates with a clean file

This opportunity offers a collaborative outpatient practice environment supported by experienced nursing staff, medical assistants, and advanced practice providers.

Primary clinical responsibilities include:

• General outpatient cardiology consultations
• Interpretation of echocardiograms
• Reading Holter monitors
• ECG interpretation
• Routine outpatient cardiac evaluations and follow-up care

Call participation is not required , but optional for providers interested in additional coverage opportunities. Available call options include:

• Weeknight call (low volume)
• Weekend call
• Daytime hospital call

TEE experience is not required unless the provider elects to participate in hospital call coverage.

• BC/BE in Cardiovascular Disease
• Active Pennsylvania medical license or IMLC eligibility at the time of presentation
• Comfortable practicing in an outpatient cardiology setting
• Experience performing general cardiology consultations and interpreting:
  • Echocardiograms
  • Holter monitors
  • ECGs
• Clean credentialing file required for emergency privileges
• Candidates must provide:
  • Current availability for coverage
  • Interview availability at the time of submission
