Construction Safety Specialist Pharmaceutical Construction | Marietta, PA | Full-Time Join a Premier Pharmaceutical Construction Team Compliance Management International (CMI), one of the fastest-growing risk management firms in the United States, is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Specialist to support a long-term pharmaceutical construction project in Marietta, PA. This position is open to local candidates only. Applicants must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Marietta, PA. Relocation, travel, and per diem are not available for this opportunity. Responsibilities Serve as the on-site safety resource for project leadership, contractors, and subcontractors. Conduct daily jobsite inspections, safety audits, and field observations. Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and verify timely resolution. Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and employee engagement. Lead and support Pre-Task Planning (PTPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), permit programs, and incident investigations. Facilitate new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and task-specific safety training. Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards and project-specific safety requirements. Support high-risk work activities, including electrical safety, fall protection, confined space entry, crane operations, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and hot work. Maintain safety reports, inspections, incident documentation, and project safety metrics. Partner with project leadership to drive continuous improvement and strengthen the site's safety culture. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience, preferably supporting General Contractors or large commercial construction projects. Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards. Experience working in fast-paced construction environments. Excellent hazard recognition, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety management systems. Preferred Qualifications Pharmaceutical construction or life sciences construction experience is highly preferred. OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (completed within the past five years). Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications. BCSP certifications such as CHST, STS-C, ASP, or CSP. OSHA 510/500, NFPA 70E, or other construction safety certifications. Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field. Work Environment This is a field-based position requiring daily oversight of active construction operations. Responsibilities include standing and walking for extended periods, climbing ladders, working at heights, entering confined spaces, navigating uneven terrain, lifting up to 30 pounds, and working in varying weather conditions.
