Infusion RN

Overview Infusion Therapist Registered Nurse, in the Infusion Center, serves as a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The RN administers IV therapy treatments and manages peripheral vascular lines with advanced nursing competencies. The role includes appropriate utilization of resources and documenting a plan of care for each patient. Primary Responsibilities Administer various IV therapy treatments, including chemotherapeutic agents and other intravenous drugs Analyze patient information and laboratory data Select and follow appropriate dosing protocol per orders from the PCP Recognize patient circumstances and lab data requiring referral and communication to the PCP Triage patient problems during clinic visits and over the telephone; recognize unusual responses to medication and contact the attending physician when necessary Arrange patient follow-up on identified problems Determine frequency of patient visits based on patient information, dosing recommendations, and lab results Provide patient education and assess the appropriateness of interdisciplinary services Monitor for GI or GU bleeding symptoms and initiate appropriate referrals based on urgency Document and record medication doses, reactions, and return visits in the clinic chart Participate in professional development to remain current in health care practices and trends Maintain confidentiality and attend required meetings Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current Oregon RN license Current healthcare level BLS/CPR certification Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) 4+ years of professional nursing experience 2+ years of IV therapy experience Experience working in an electronic medical record system Compensation and Benefits Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. The hourly pay range is $34.23 to $61.15 per hour based on full-time employment.
