Positional Overview

The Imagine Group is recruiting for a  Business Senior Strategy Analyst on behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in  Buffalo, New York , serving individuals, businesses, and communities across the eastern United States. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing complex business data, evaluating strategic initiatives, and providing actionable insights to support executive decision-making and long-term organizational goals. You will partner with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements, assess business performance, develop data-driven recommendations, and help drive operational efficiency and strategic growth initiatives.

• Support planning and implementation of new projects, products, programs and initiatives to achieve short and long-term business objectives and strategic outcomes. Lead effort to maintain project documentation. Develop comprehensive documentation that aligns with regulatory expectations as required.
• Assists the team in addressing problems/solutions, risks and issues. Analyzes information, determining feasible solutions, articulating recommendations to project team. Apply critical thinking to independently navigate problems/issues.
• Develop and produce basic ad hoc and automated departmental analyses and reports (incl. workflow analysis, project analysis, trend reporting, strategic analysis, other). Ability to distill information and create an executive summary to drive action.
• Adhere to all standards and procedures ensuring high quality work and that efforts are appropriately and accurately documented.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience

Qualifications That Will Help You Thrive

 

• 2–3+ years of project or business analysis experience supporting cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong experience facilitating meetings, gathering requirements, and engaging internal stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to ask probing questions and drive discussions.
• Experience documenting current-state and future-state business processes.
• Proficiency creating process flows using Visio (or comparable tools such as Miro).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• Experience producing clear project documentation, executive summaries, and workflow/process documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Banking or financial services experience (preferred but not required).
• Experience supporting large business transformation or modernization initiatives.
• Process improvement, business process redesign, or operational excellence experience.
• Familiarity with regulatory documentation and governance within enterprise projects.
