About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Medicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (11:00 AM - 03:00 PM) Experience: Minimum of two years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last three years. License: RN license required (WI or Compact) Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS (AHA only), TNCC required. Must-Have: Epic experience required. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. Description: Evenings required, with shifts being 12 hours and 8 hours as needed between 11:00 AM and 03:00 PM. Weekend and holiday rotation is mandatory. Traveler must have two years of Emergency Department experience within the last three years. Epic experience is required. The following certifications are mandatory: BLS, PALS, ACLS (AHA only), and TNCC. The traveler will be required to pass a telemetry exam prior to commencing the assignment. The Emergency Department provides comprehensive emergency care to a high volume of patients annually. It serves as a critical entry point to the health system, rapidly stabilizing patients for admission or transfer. The department has been recognized for providing evidence-based care across the lifespan and for a wide range of clinical presentations. The team coordinates closely with ambulance services to provide seamless care for critically ill and injured patients. Nursing and tech staff serve as the rapid response team, delivering emergent assessment and intervention throughout the facility. Float as needed is required for travelers. Minimum experience of two years of acute care nursing within the last three years in the specialty is necessary. Pass/fail testing required with strict passing criteria for telemetry exam criteria. Traveler will be allowed two attempts to pass the required telemetry exam. Successful identification of lethal rhythms and understanding of 3rd degree heart blocks are crucial for passing. If the traveler fails the second attempt, a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course is needed before a third attempt. Failure to pass after three attempts will result in assignment cancellation. Emergency nurses work with interdisciplinary support teams to provide optimal patient care. Patient demographic includes neonates, adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census and patient volumes support a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
