Hotel Valet Attendant - Marriott Rivercenter/Marriott Riverwalk

Summary The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. Responsibilities include parking and retrieving guest vehicles, assisting with luggage, and providing directions, reservations, and other inquiries. Essential Functions Maintains a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients (25%). Uses a salutation of the day, welcomes guests to the location, practices proper phone etiquette, and posts up in designated areas when not completing tasks (10%). Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously; assists guests with bell services and luggage storage, and opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests (20%). Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provides information about outlets, meeting rooms, and facility amenities, and shuttles guests to approved locations (10%). Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures; issues and collects claim checks; maintains ticket information, calculates and collects revenue (35%). Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED. Licensure: Valid driver’s license for the state of employment. Experience: One (1) month related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Skills: Reading and writing standard English; comprehending simple instructions and short correspondence; presenting information in one‑on‑one and small group settings; performing basic arithmetic with American money; understanding 24‑hour and military time; understanding rates; operating a manual transmission and parallel parking. Compensation Hourly base pay: $8–$10 per hour plus $13–$15 per hour in tips. Work schedule is dependent on hotel business volumes; open availability is recommended.
