Req #: 0000251971 Category: Laboratory Status: Full-Time Shift: Day Facility: RWJBarnabas Health Corporate Services Department: Lab CBMC Pay Range: $40.79 - $52.03 per hour Location: 94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039 Job Title: Blood Bank Technologist Job Summary Assumes responsibility for the performance of routine, standardized biological and/or biochemical tests, as well as more complex procedures on blood, urine, tissues, body fluids, and other specimens that assist physicians in the diagnosis and clinical management of patients. Assumes responsibility for recognizing results or problems that require referral to a Technical Specialist, Pathologist, or Administrative Coordinator. Performs additional tasks as requested by the Chairman of Pathology or his or her designee. Education Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology preferred. Requirements Knowledge of specialized principles and techniques in Blood Banking normally obtained through formal academic training and experience. Registry with a recognized board of registry for medical technologies such as the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Successful completion of all Orientation Programs. Availability M-F 10a-6p and one weekend a month.
