This position will report to the Mechanical Engineering Hardware Manager while working with a group of curious, innovative, and supportive engineers and scientists.It is a unique role, where the scope of contributions will span from early concept feasibility work, new product development, new product introduction, manufacturing & inspection fixtures, to the support of products already in the field.We are a fast-growing division that supports our employees' career growth and empowers them to pursue their aspirations. We value working with engineers and scientists from all walks of life.Performance Objectives and Responsibilities:Design and develop analytical instruments and accessories.Deliver best in class products by closely collaborating with cross functional teams of scientists and engineers.Iterate quickly on prototypes and deliver designs which meet product requirements and ensure compliance with the relevant standards and regulations.Apply engineering knowledge to ensure feasibility, reliability, and manufacturability of proposed designsCreate engineering documentation, 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and protocols/reports.Ensure successful transition to manufacturing by supporting development of manufacturing equipment and processes.Engage in and make contributions across the range of projects supported by the San Jose based ME Hardware team including: concept feasibility work, new product development, new product introduction, manufacturing & inspection fixtures, and support of products already in the field.Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.Provide and receive constructive feedback with good intent.Present technical information and designs to large audiences.Contribute to design reviews and system level problem-solving efforts.Engage and develop relationships with vendors to ensure the designs are manufacturable, reliable, and meet cost targets.Produce unique and innovative solutions to challenging problems contributing to the company’s portfolio of intellectual property.Education, Experience, and Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with five to seven years of industry experience ( or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with three to five year of industry experience).
