$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 Annually $2,307.69 - $2,500.00 Bi-weekly

Position Summary

This position spends the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees’ work, and has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action.

The Work You Will Do  

This is a highly responsible professional and administrative position involved in supervising, planning, monitoring and evaluating Agency for Persons with Disabilities programs with special emphasis on developing strategies for promoting employment of Individuals with Disabilities and oversight of Adult Day Training centers (ADTs).

Supervises unit and oversees operational functions of the Transportation, Employment and Adult Day Training initiatives for the Agency. Collaborates with local, state and federal agencies and other stakeholders for the unit’s initiatives.

This individual is responsible to assure compliance with required standards, and correct and current information is available for data analysis and review of the Agency's Home and Community Based (HCBS) Waiver(s) system. The position coordinates with regional staff, other programs, agencies and agency positions to develop and ensure compliance with standards for participation in the waiver program.

Conduct employment plan reviews to ensure compliance with state and federal rules and procedures. Exercise independent judgement to make decisions and prepare complete written recommendations with appropriate legal citations.

Coordinate with the state Medicaid agency regarding shared rules and content.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.

• Valid Driver’s License or other efficient means of transportation and willing to travel for work purposes.

• Four years of related professional experience.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge of:

• Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).

• APD iConnect to complete business processes.

• Methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating staff.

• Structure and content of the English language, including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Ability to:

• Provide responsive customer service.

• Work with individuals with developmental disabilities.

• Multi- task effectively.

• Use tracking systems to monitor and complete work assignments within required timeframes.

• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and the ability to prepare reports.

• Lead, supervise and manage people.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Background Screening Requirement

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
