Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Medical Assistant to join our team in a dual-role position primarily focused on front desk responsibilities. This role will be based in our Family Medical Office, and the ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and also assist with clinical duties as needed. This is a PRN (as needed) position, with opportunities for additional hours based on clinic needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Front Desk Duties (Primary Focus):

• Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival.

• Answer multi-line phones and direct calls appropriately.

• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.

• Verify insurance information and collect co-pays.

• Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic information.

• Handle check-in and check-out processes efficiently.

• Manage general front office duties, including scanning, faxing, and filing.

Medical Assistant Duties (As Needed):

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient examinations.

• Take and record vital signs, patient histories, and chief complaints.

• Administer injections and perform basic laboratory tests as instructed.

• Assist with documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).

• Maintain clinical equipment and ensure rooms are stocked and sanitized.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program (certification required).

• Previous experience in a medical office, preferably family practice, is a plus.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in using EMR systems and basic computer applications.

Working Conditions:

• Mostly office/front desk work with occasional back-office clinical duties.

• Monday–Friday schedule (some flexibility may be required).
