Registered Nurse - ASU, Per Diem Days

Putnam Hospital is a 164‑bed acute care hospital located in Carmel, New York, serving the local community for 60 years. The campus spans 150 acres and offers emergency and behavioral health services. Job Summary The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. The RN ensures that quality care is provided efficiently and safely, consistent with the unit's standards of care. The RN demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization, remains flexible to changing systems, and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect. Minimum Qualifications Education : Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Licensure/Registration/Certification : Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. BLS required; ACLS credential within one year of hire. Work Experience : Professional nursing experience of one or more years desirable. Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served; specialty unit employees for areas such as Endoscopy and the Minor Room. Must meet clinical competency standards specific to the assigned patient care area. Physical & Other Factors : Position requires considerable walking, standing and moderate lifting. Work and environmental conditions include exposure to patient elements and handling of emergencies and critical patient incidents. Working Conditions Manual: significant manual skills/motor coordination & finger dexterity. Occupational: significant occupational risk. Physical effort: very heavy effort, may exert up to 50 lbs. force. Physical environment: significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc. #J-18808-Ljbffr
